"Some say that Mermaids cry when a sailor or fisherman is lost at sea. When their tears touch the sands on shore, they turn into beautiful sea glass that show all the colours of the ocean"

Imagine a beautiful sunny day on a beach searching for sea glass and feeling the joy of constantly finding gem after gem - and that is Seaham.

Seaham beach is near to the site of a Victorian glass factory. The waste products were dumped at sea and over a century later are being washed up on the seashore smoothed and buffed into perfect, magical gems. In amongst those gems there are the rarities…and this is one. Part clear, part blue, this piece of glass is unique. Set in sterling silver, this pendant is handmade with care and a reverence for what nature can create from the waste that mankind produces.

Part clear, part Amber, this piece of glass is unique. Set in sterling silver, I have created a pendant that reflects care and reverence for what nature can create from the waste that mankind produces.

This pendant comes with a sterling silver chain with an option of 16” or 18” chain. Please specify when you place your order.

"Apothecary"

This piece of glass belonged to a bottle stopper and is probably over 120 years old. Glass stoppers were usually used on bottles that would be used over time, such as a perfume bottle, sauce bottle, decanters, and apothecary bottles. Bottles that were used only once, such as wine or beer, would be stoppered with cork or something less expensive than glass. This stopper was probably cast out to sea as waste along with its bottle. It has been worn by time and the waves reflecting it’s age and history.

I have used recycled sterling silver to create a stunning pendant that reflects how we can repurpose anything into something that can be valued and enjoyed.

The pendant is supplied with a 16” chain but an 18” chain is available on request.

Did you know that sea glass has 'healing properties' ?

"Health is the greatest gift"   -   Buddha

........the story of sea glass reminds me of a journey that is symbolic of 'renewal and healing'.

A beautiful well worn piece of sea glass is a testament to 'strength and survival', something that is almost spiritual.

Accepting one's imperfections and believing that persistence and time will be smooth and soften them, can be compared with how the ocean smooths and softens a jagged piece of glass over a long period of time until it is transformed into a new creation that is more beautiful than before, even with it's imperfections that are somehow less noticeable.

About Me

Sarah Kingston of Winchester

"I don't love it because I sell it, I sell it because I love it!"

Making and selling my sea glass jewellery designs is just plain fun and very relaxing. It is endlessly rewarding and a perfect extension of my love for this magical medium.

My customers are enthusiastic about sea glass. It's obvious from their words to me that they ascribe special meaning to their sea glass gems, just as I do. I love helping them with requests for meaningful and special personal gifts.

I love learning more about sea glass and can't wait to share that knowledge with my customers.

It's always a pleasure to listen to my customers stories about the sea glass adventures, collections and recollections that mean so much to them.

My goal is to provide well made, authentic, elegant and timeless sea glass designs, pendants, necklaces, earrings and bracelets.

My wish is that my customers enjoy my sea glass designs for many years to come. I want my customers to be thrilled with their purchase and enjoy the magic of sea glass.

My approach to business is one of positivity, kindness, honesty and value.

Sea glass makes me feel good. Driving from my home in Winchester, Hampshire to Cornwall, exploring the little coves and fishing harbours for sea glass is a mystical experience. Spending time outside, surrounded by natures sights and sounds is healthy for my soul and uplifting for my spirit.

Another reason why I love sea glass is that it is created by nature. At a time when so much is mass produced, isn't it more enjoyable to have something that is truly real and one of a kind?
